Heavy Gauge Stamping

Coil-fed heavy gauge stamping is a cost-effective method for producing a high volume of metal parts for manufacturing. However, some manufacturers are limited in their stamping capacities due to the thickness of certain coils. At Ohio Valley Manufacturing, our coil-fed metal stamping capabilities can accommodate heavy gauge materials. Our 4,000-ton press the capability to handle material thicknesses up to 0.650” (16 mm), with a maximum stroke of 24” and a bed size of 84” x 236”.

Precision blanking uses shear force to punch a metal piece (a blank) out of a metal sheet or coil. The fabrication process involves the following steps:
- A coil is run through a die to punch out the desired form.
- A blanking punch, similar in shape to the desired part, is positioned above the metal coil.
- A press drives the punch down into the opening of the die, removing the blank from the primary metal sheet.
